Jacobean Peacock Kit

by Phillipa Turnbull

Marvel at the splendour of the Jacobean Peacock Kit. This early-20th Century design features a majestic peacock, surrounded by traditional Jacobean motifs, offering a rich and detailed project.

The Peacock, which would have signified immortal life in an embroidery of the 17th Century, has evolved into a proud and vibrant bird, showing off fashionable purple and jade colours, which were ‘all the rage’ in late-Victorian and early-Edwardian eras.

How we give back

We are passionate about keeping embroidery alive for future generations and supporting the talented artisans and dedicated technicians involved in their care.

This is a lovely kit. The wools are beautiful and the color instructions are very clear. As always with Crewel work company kits, the linen is the highest quality and a pleasure to stitch on. The design is beautiful.

I had been waiting for this kit to be released. It is everything I had expected from The Crewel Work Co. The colours are lovely and the design is work of art. I am really enjoying stitching this at the moment and looking forward to having it framed in due course.
