We are delighted to begin accepting wholesale orders over 10 metres of our Jacobean Linen Twill.
Earlier this summer, we made arrangements to take over the worldwide wholesale distribution of this beautiful Linen Twill following the retirement, later this month, of our weaver Ian Dale of Angus Weavers.
For those of you who have been part of our community for some time, you will know that the development of an historically-accurate, loom-state Linen Twill, which faithfully replicates the linen used 16th and 17th Century crewel work, and importantly which stands the test of time, has been a career-long pursuit of Phillipa’s and which first brought her and Ian together over 30 years ago. We are extremely grateful to Ian for the support he has shown us since that time and for his own insistence on achieving the absolute best quality twill for our needs. We certainly achieved that and it is our absolute pleasure to be continuing Ian's legacy by ensuring that this important historic fabric remains available.
We are working closely with our new weaver, and with Ian as supporting consultant, to ensure that all providers retain the standards of crop, weave, and treatment both we and Ian have come to expect.
The fabric will from now on be known as Crewel Work Company Jacobean Linen Twill and will not be available for anywhere else so if you are purchasing from a re-seller, this how you can check that you are buying the same historically-accurate, loom-state Jacobean Linen Twill that we know is crucial to achieving the absolute best from your Crewel Work.
We will continue to sell the fabric on our site up to 10 metres (updates have been made to the measurements available). But if you are a needlework shop, curator, artist, tutor, or anyone else who requires lengths of above 10 metres of this wonderful fabric, either for your own needs or to re-sell, please contact admin@crewelwork.com to obtain our trade pricing and terms of sale.
