Workshop Designs

A Crewel Work Extravagance from Gawthrope Hall

Gawthorpe Peacock with Phillipa Turnbull

This woodland scene is inspired by a set of recently discovered seat cushion covers at Gawthorpe Hall. The design incorporates several elements found in the bedhanging, including a pomegranate and several cherries that can also be found in the earlier designs of this series.

Gawthorpe Parrot with Harriet Roberts

This design has been especially designed to cover all the skills and techniques needed to tackle one of Rachel Kay Shuttleworth’s heroic embroidery achievements, the bedhanging found in her grand bedroom in Gawthorpe Hall. The composition includes 12 of the most commonly used crewel work stitches - which makes it the perfect design to start or master your craft!
