Crewel work is a traditional and beautiful freestyle form of ancient embroidery using wool to create a slightly raised feature on a linen twill background. It is suitable for all levels of stitching experience.

Needlepoint is another form of traditional use of needle and wool thread, using an evenweave linen canvas background. It is also suitable for all levels of stitching experience.

I am a specialist crewel researcher and am extremely fortunate to have access to, and permission to replicate, the crewel and needlepoint designs in many British Castles and Country Houses.
